Bitdefender Pro 9 Scanning Probs

I recently have been having probs scanning my C drive with Bitdefender 9 Professional Edition. The scan runs fine when I start it but once it reaches around 40% it looks like it gets stuck and just keeps scanning and stays on 40% without advancing to 41%, 42%, 43% etc. It just seems to sit on the 40% but is still shows its scanning.

Should I uninstall and re-install BD will this help, also is there any special way to uninstall this program.

mind if i ask why you have the standard bitdefender as a backup?

How long is it hanging at 40% for? Maybe it is just taking along time to unpack a certain file?

Standard Bitdefender as a backup ? No I dont have standard bitdefender as a backup. I have got 4 PC's, 1 server and 1 laptop (notebook PC) but one of my desktops runs BD Pro 9, while the others are on NOD32 and Avast Free.
