Well today I was told I was going to get my 1 year review. When I went into the review I found out it was not a review at all but rather what they call a performance improvement plan. This means no raise, no chance to tanasfer or no promotion for 2 months.

Even though I am an above average tech, corporte says i have attitude problems. My co-workers are back stabing me now. They gave me 60 days to become a robot or loose my job.

What do you think I should do? I am old so it is hard to find work.

The company is called IGT. I think they are the ganster of the slot machine world. They have the hard core military attitude. Either do as we say or die.
I am from the 70's , I have a hard time with that crap.

looking for suggestions :-\

Awww Bruce .
If you are so old that retirement is around the bend , hang in there . But , you can always be looking elsewhere while still working for them . Besides , it sounds like you might have a decent background in what you do . I hate two faced people >:( but , sometimes you have to play by their rules . AKA , grin and act happy :D *puppy* while you do their bidding . And keep looking :-\ . I wish you luck as this is not an easy thing am sure:ouch:

Unfortunetely this is the way it goes:

Either 'kiss butt' and be doomed (or not!)....

Or say what you think, and be doomed also.

Finding the "safe" middle isn't always easy for some people.....and that is OK.
Just that certain individuals like to make your work-life miserable then.

A friend of mine is one of the sweetest. He works his behind off...assists everyone and knows everything about his field,..and more.
When he mentions for example that certain SAFETY RULES aren't kept,
he gets "backstabbed"!
Now...what kind of world do we live in ?

I don't know. All I see (hear about) is a bunch of whinies and people that ..yes...want you dead !! ;D

I sympathize with you, Controler.

P.S. Hollywoodpc is right about it alittle. Sometimes we just have to say yes and amen ~ grin and bear it, if you want to be able to buy the bread and butter....::) :-\

Thank you very much.:)

You are both right on. I am thinking of getting written acknoladgements from the Casinos I go to work at that appreciate me. Even though the casions say they hate the fact IGT took over (SODAK) my bosses do not care.
IGT was not into Native American untill they took over SODAK which was licenced for Native American Casinos. I am thinking I could use the casino managers references to go over my bosses head. These casinos ask that I come fix their slot machines and that the other techs do not come because they are incompetent. They have no quims about my attitude at all.
I guess I am not a diplomatic person with my bosses. I guess I am at a lose right now.

I do appreciate your kindness and thoughtfullness.

Thank you again.

Hi Bruce

I have the best boss and the worst boss in the world. Me!. Have you considered going into business for yourself. If there are enough casino's out there that like your work, it might be something to consider.

My Idea, Pete!

Life is too short for licking heals & kissing *sses !!! (if you don't like to)

Be true to yourself and dare to TAKE RISKS.

It's the only way you can look back in the end and see you've truly lived.

Remember: failure does not exist... it's all in the mind.

Life is what YOU make it. Have faith and...

Good luck.

The funny part is that I asked the boss a month ago if I could have the summer off without pay so I could get some serious fishing done. He simply replied NO, I need everybody all summer because it is going to be busy.
So after a few days of reflecting on the matter, I actualy slept till 9:00 Am this Sunday morning trying to prepare myself for what it will be like to be out of work.
If I can not find suitable employment before I get let go, I shall at least enjoy one good summer of fishing.
