What if memory usage wasn't an issue compared to how good a firewall works, then which firewall would you use? Feature wise is not a reason to pick one over another. I mean, we have other programs like PG, AD, RD, etc. to use as HIPS and don't need HIPS in a firewall. Now which one do you still pick?

The firewall which has always worked the best for me is Sygate v5.5 build 2710.

Zonealarm Pro has some features that might be considered HIPS, don't really know for sure if they are along that line though.

Norton Personal Firewall 2005.
It uses about 5% of my memory. In retrospect, its distant predecessor AtGuard used to use the same %, back in the days when I only had 64 MB.

CHX-I, uses the least memory (which doesn't matter in this thread), has the best packet inspection, and the most flexibility 8)

Hi,
Memory usage is never an issue for me. CPU usage is more important for me.
BTW, in my experience, the most transparent firewalls (usage-wise) are sygate and jetico.

Right now I only have a 256MB RAM...so I just uses Windows XP SP2 Firewall. I think this is just enough for me as I only connects to slow dial-up net connections. Maybe I'll use a third party firewall in the future if my RAM gots bigger and my connection faster. 8)
If memory is not an issue and my connection faster...then maybe I would probably tries again Outpost Pro but if this can still slow down my surfing then I would replace it with Look N'Stop. ;D
