I don't overload my dog w pet foods. Most of his foods are left-overs from our table/kitchen...but then I still mix some dog foods on it. ;D
The best thing is that he is happy and healthy and still kicking like a soccer ball player. 8)

I like your attitude, sweater !! http://www.wilderssecurity.com/images/other/THUMBSUP.GIF
One thing about feeding mostly leftovers to a pet.
While human food certainly is good for a dog....if you feed them that it would need to be cooked the right way...
As a matter of fact. Alot of people know that cooking food for their pets themselves is very healthy.
They need meats and veggies & a little rice just like us.
And usually we do not add any salt, sugar or other useless and unhealthy things to homemade meals for the animals. :P
And here it comes:
OUR food that we eat is mostly full of junk! :gack:
Too salty, too sugary and/or too fatty.
What isn't good for us is not necessarily good for our "Brutus", "Fido" or "Fluffy" either ;)
I would imagine that a diet with *only* leftovers from my table would leave my dog deprived of certain vitamins that he needs. *puppy*
So I usually would cook up some meats and some vegetables (No salt or fats) and mix in SOME
dry-comercial food. ~
Age appropiate if possible. ;)
Despite what the dog food industry says: I don't believe for a second that their mushy canned ~ or dry food is enough. Getting picky when feeding
bought food AND homemade ??
That is something one would need to work out with the pet.
Here's some reading...interesting stuff ! :) :) :)

Ahem, also dog owners please keep them in your own yard to do their "business." Some, like me, will bring that business back to you in a shovel.

Or, of course, be prepared to pick up while out walking. The nice thing about a small dog is that those plastic sandwich bags are perfect -- put one on over your hand like a glove to pick up, then flip it inside-out ready for neat disposal.

And A Reminder (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=120632):
~A little dog poem~
I love that dog
So maybe he is a little bad sometimes (I mean, who isn't?)
Maybe he barks too loud at night (That isn't really bad, is it? No!)
Maybe he'll go and chase some old cat over the fence
But he's not the kind that growls, and he's not the kind that bites
And on those days when it feels
Like I haven't a friend
He's so glad to see me
That he wags his whole back end
I love that dog
The way he smiles when I pat his head
The way he curls up and snores some nights by my bed
I love that dog
Oh yes I do, I really love that dog
Oh yes I do, I really really love that dog
I love that dog

As that rascalian Detox would say: "Hold on there you brainlessy Brit!"
I reely have two choices.....send them out to Marja packed in ice for a Memorial Service...or better yet....Ship them to Blacksmerg packed in briquettes for his Post Nupchooal Barbie picnic.
Just like the FOX in da henhouse...I report...yoo decide!:isay:
