Is it possible to have two backups running at the same time? Instead of throwing all the servers into one large backup, I would prefer to run a couple of them in their own backup sets.

I believe, but could be wrong, that if one backup is running and a second one launches, the second one will remain in a wait state until the first is finished.

Hello williamsmc,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Server Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ATISWin/).

Could you please provide us with the following information?

- What exact version and build number of Acronis True Image do you use?

You can find the full version name and build number by going to Help -> About... menu in the main program window;

- What operating system(s) do you use?

- What do you mean exactly when saying that you want to have "two backups running at the same time"?

- Describe the desired actions in more detail.

Thank you.

I am currently running version 8 build 1,213

- What operating system(s) do you use?
Windows 2000 server with an ATA RAID.

- What do you mean exactly when saying that you want to have "two backups running at the same time"?
example - You have server1 on backup_set1 and server2 on backup_set2. If backup_set1 is still running when backup_set2 is scheduled to start, will backup_set2 queue unitl backup_set1 is finished, or will they run at the same time?

Another question, if you have incremental backups scheduled, is there a place to specify in the software how many backups are kept? Or will it keep them until you run out of space?

Hello williamsmc,

Thank you very much for all the provided information.

Please be aware that there should not be any problems running two scheduled tasks at the same time in the way you have described, since these task will actually be running on a remote machines (server1 and server2) which has Acronis Agents installed and therefore will not interact with each other in any way.

If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/support/) or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

Thank you.
