Scivvies were something supplied to the British 'Squaddy' under the very loose term of 'Underpants'........after being worn for any length of time they would guarantee to save your 'Under-carriage' in the event of stepping on a Land-mine.....;D.....they could also be used as a 5 man bivouac if very desperate......and......if you were lucky enough to find four other men...
Mmmmmm?...5F eh?......As the Germans would say "Vor you der Var ist over"..
I was on the Somme when the first shot was fired.........when the second shot was fired I was up in our attic at home......so there.....
I have an urgent message for anyone living in Texas..................It must be awful for you......;D

Au contraire, Amigo. [Texmexfrench] ;D
In the words of the immortal Tanya Tucker song--------
When I die I may not go to heaven
I don't know if they let cowboys in
If they don't just let me go to Texas, Boy!
Texas is as close as I've been.
New York couldn't hold my attention
Detroit City couldn't sing my song
If tomorrow finds me busted flat in Dallas
I won't care, 'cause at least I'll know I'm home.
When I die I may not go to heaven
I don't know if they let cowboys in
If they don't just let me go to Texas, Boy!
Texas is as close as I've been.
I'd ride through all of Hell and half of Texas
Just to hear Willie Nelson sing a country song
Beer just ain't as cold in old Milwaukee
My body's here, but my soul's in San Antone.
When I die I may not go to heaven
I don't know if they let cowboys in
If they don't just let me go to Texas, Boy!
Texas is as close as I've been.

;D Being true to the statistics of this thread, and not having a clue as to what the hell it means. I think this is a written invitation to the "Wildman" to get wild. Hay back in the 1960's I and a couple of hundred other soldiers whispered to then President Johnson to give Texas and New Mexico back to Mexico. What can I say we tried.
Thanks

That's a ? you'll have to ask Nursies Simone and Lulu. Sometimes slinging stuff sideways simplifies the surmise that something susceptible to simplification sounds sordid. Sound silly? So sue me!

8) Back in the 1960's the Rio Grande river had changed it's course, and what used to be part of El Paso TX was now part of Juarez Mexico. The "Wildman" was in the U.S. Army at the time, and we had been detailed to stand on the bridge between El Paso and Juarez while the presidents of the United States and Mexico cut the ribbon. All told I would say there was about 10 of us honor guard types. All of us under our breath were whispering give it all back and throw in New Mexico while you're at it.
Thanks
