A message keeps showing up "Cannot delete wl_hook.dll: Access is denied".
Is there someone who can help me with this?

Hi CJsDad,{QUOTE-> A message keeps showing up "Cannot delete wl_hook.dll: Access is denied". <-QUOTE}Seems like the file is in use by Windows.
Mind you I'm no expert on this, but I did experience the same with the Xfilter.dll from FilseClab.
Trying to delete this file in Safe Mode would have cut off my internet connection. :-\

You could reinstall OutPost again and then making sure nothing runs in the background prior to uninstalling.

Best wait until someone else confirms or gives you more information on how
to proceed.
You could also take a look at their forum (http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/index.php?s=). ;)

My 30 day trial of Outpost Pro is up so I wanted to completely remove the program before I tried my second firewall, Look N Stop.
I want to decide between the two FW programs before I make one of them my final FW.

I tried to reinstall OP but the download freezes about halfway through and it always happens when it gets to wl_hook.dll.

I would ask at their forum but do I have to register just to ask one question or is there another way around that?

Have you tried booting into safe mode and removing it?

Seems there were already some issues with it as discussed here (http://outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14601). :-\
Doing a search on their forum will certainly reveal others having the same problem.

Hope you'll get it removed in Safe Mode, but like I said above be careful. ;)

I will try it in safe mode if that doesnt work I guess I will have to register or hopefully find what I am looking for at the OP forum.

rebooting into safe mode did the trick, no problems at all, thanks for the help. :D

To handle future 'access is denied' problems, take a look at Unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/).
