Opinions on F-Secure AV

Does anyone here use F-Secure AV? Has it ever failed you?

Hello fatpizzaman, I use F-Secure with great success on one of my PC's. I find it excellent at "sniffing out" bugs in ZIP files. Updates are also frequent and their support is extremely polite and prompt. Scan speed is about average. I think it has 3 engines running, however I might be wrong. I am sure Paul would verify that for you, as he is the expert on these programmes. It is a bit pricey though, but it does give peace of mind. Regards, Peter.

I fully agree with swisscoms; a top notch anti-virus - though a bit (too?) expensive IMHO.

No you are not wrong!!!! F-secure uses 3 engines:
F-Secure F-Prot - 3.09.507
F-Secure AVP * *- *3.55.160.3210
F-Secure Orion *- *1.02.15

As I said befor F-Secure is top AV scanner!!!

I have it as my resident AV protection. The only thing it lacks for me is pop3 monitoring. It will detect anything being opened though.
The Orion module doesn't get updated very often, but the other two do.
Excellent product as far as I'm concerned.
Yes, it would be better for it to cost $29.95 for 1 yr.

A 'cheaper' solution for F-Secure is to buy Kaspersky Anti Virus. Regarding the latest test from the testcenter of University Magdeburg there is no real difference between the results of KAV and F-Secure.

Anyway F-Secure is a fine program but for home users it is too expensive.

It IS geared toward commercial use,and thus its support is second to none.
