how do I find an Outlook file on Acronis?

I have my entire system backed up on an external hard drive via Acronis. When I search it, I find the back up separated into 12 separate files. They all seem to have the entire back up in them (as the files seem to be the same in all of them). In any event, I saved my Outlook Emails within my Outlook personal folders, but I cannot identify them when I try to search the back up on the external hard drive through Acronis.

Can you tell me where to find the old Emails in the back up? Assistance will be appreciated ... I don't know how to identify them. Thanks.

Your external drive is probably FAT32. That’s why the backup image had to be segmented. FAT32 can’t handle anything larger than ~4GB.
Exploring any of the segments will show you everything in the entire backup. TI knows that all the parts belong to the whole and will display it as if it were just one file.

Thanks for that information. That tells me something I should know when I search for a new external hard drive! Do you know how to identify Outlook files and folders like I am looking for in the Acronis tree? I can't seem to find it anywhere, and I think Outlook has a funny way of storing its files. Thanks.

I guess that depends on where you saved them :o
I believe they are usually .pst files. You can search for that.

You can convert the drive to NTFS if you like without losing data. There is a conversion process documented at the MS site.

I don’t have access to Outlook right now, but I think there is a selection in the toolbar that shows where the files are stored. You’ll have to poke around a bit. Maybe under File, Data File Management or something like that.
