Well timed question:thumb:
Have just replaced the cheapie optical keyboard/mouse used for the past 6 months - due to being unable to read the L, N, E, O, I as the letters have worn off completely leaving no trace, while the A, S D K, U, C, M, H & T are faintly readable still. Think it was aiming for stealth mode :lurking:
The just-retired yesterday, keyboard was bought as a "disposable" due to the oversize 17" CRT that used up all the desk-space & left no space for the keyboard on the desk. It was used via a lap-table or resting on the arm of the arm-chair I use & of course was subject to frequent falls and occasional accidents with spilled coffee. ::)
Couldn't see any point investing in a decent keyboard while the survival of said keyboard was still so at risk. It wasn't viable until the original monitor was replaced in mid Jan with a 17" TFT creating desk-space ( am v physically disabled and it took the loss of a 3-4 keyboards to sort out the "how to viably have coffee within reach & keyboard in proximity, safely = travel-mug" due to incidents of uncontrolled movement ) but other issues with the PC took precedence until this weekend.
The new one is a spill resistant design, just to stay on the safer side ;)
Added a Gig of RAM tonight to run the 80Gb, only had 256MB physical RAM & was using 80% of it just ticking over. So it's on it's way to a leaner, cleaner, faster machine & it's very useful to be able to read the keyboard again.
If only it had auto "anti-typo's" I'd be set! ;D

Most of the letters around my index and middle fingers are hard do see.

I just looked down at my keyboard and noticed the letters on my right Shift key are wearing off. The "t" is gone and the curved part of the "f" is gone to. I'm just glad the long part of the "h" is gone. Better is says "Snit" than--well--no comment.
