I am running a small office with a few PC linked up via LAN. I am using a router and each pc has some additional software firewall. I am now adding a network printer server and I am wondering if this may cause some security issues? Obviously the printer is connected to the net via the network but without any additional protection apart from the router. Am I leaving myself open to attack?

The router should protect the print server from the outside. Are the LAN systems able to access it without having to change their current firewall configurations?

I haven't finished setting it up and still wait for some spare hardware parts for the printer but at present I can already see the printer when checking settings/printers.
