I just purchased, downloaded and installed True Image and am now getting an error message:

"Failed to read from sector 1,330,184,330 of hard disk 2"

What do I do now? I have a desktop computer with a stand alone backup harddrive. What is hard disk 2?

Thanks.

Jerry

Hello Jerry,

Sounds as if you may have a bad sector on the reported drive/partition. Try running chkdsk /r on each of the partitions of your hard drives (internal and external). If you happen to be using Windows 9x, use the command scandskw instead.

Hello Jerry,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

As Menorcaman said, please run chkdsk /r command to check the hard disk.

If that does not help then please download the latest version of Acronis drivers (http://www.acronis.com/files/support/SnapAPI_l_s_e.exe), install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.

If the problem still persists then enable logging by running the Acronis drivers installation package once again, reproduce the problem and collect the c:\snapapi.log file.

If that doesn't help, please create Acronis Report as it is described in Acronis Help Post (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317).

Please create an account (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/registration/), then log in (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/) and submit a request for technical support (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/support/). Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

Thank you.
