Yep, they actaully hosts the files themselfs, and keep only files that are okay, and some that are great I've been downloading from them...

Oh no.. I'd be cautious about download.com, some files are safe though.

It's actually debatable whether they are clean, they don't fiddle with the files themselves but they host some pretty bad software..
