Google makes the news so frequently these days that it is hard to seperate the wheat from the chaff. My assertion has always been that Google is working its way from the outside-in, not the inside-out. So a OS or office product would not make sense at this time. But their market valuation has exceeded Intel (http://australianit.news.com.au/articles/0,7204,17983952%5E15322%5E%5Enbv%5E15306,00.html), and they are second only to Microsoft. So maybe they are in an R&D phase.
