What are the differences between Shadowuser and Firstdefense? Wich one to you prefer (and use) and why?

There are many threads here on that exact subject. You might search and read thru them.

But to answer your question I prefer First Defense, because of ease of use and reliablity

I don't use either - as I'm quite satisfied using System Restore together with weekly image backups. That said, RestoreIT has received high praise from a Windows guru whom I highly respect, so since you are (seemingly) looking for a System Restore alternative, you may want to consider RestoreIT as well. ;)

I havent tried shadowuser but I have bought firstdefence, so naturally I prefer it :)
I like the opportunity to have different setups (via snapshots) for gaming, for testing stuff and backups/restore of C: drive. It has a freeze option if I want to have a snapshot that I never want to change. For example eventual malware dissapears after reboot. I guess that is what Shadowsurfer do too, but there are more options in Firstdefence for the one who needs it. Best way is to test and see what suites you best.

If you have enough disk space, FirstDefense gives you more options than I have even seen in any of these programs. The fact that it can do so much yet still be so reliable says much about the code writing that went into this app.

If I understand right, FirstDefense have more option and more possibility than ShadowUser have... Does FirstDefense need to have partitition on our disk?

And also concerning FirstDefense, after sneaking on their website, I have at least two questions :

1) If I use Kaspersky has an on-demand scan, will I have trouble with FirstDefense?

2) If my system is in French, can FirstDefense work on my system?

I believe that FD is only available in English. If you use KAV version 5, DO NOT use the Alternate Data Streams. You were wise in studying the Raxco website before downloading.

I've tried them all. I run Deep Freeze on my desktop and ShadowSURFER on my laptop. I actually like ShadowUSER best, but don't have a license. First Defense is fine, I just prefer the Shadow products and Deep Freeze.

At the moment, I have ShadowUser in mind, because I have already DeepFreeze in the kitchen.
FD-ISR is also a possibility and I will certainly try it.
Anything is possible on my new computer, but my very last choice would be blacklist scanners and HIPS with its annoying disturbing questions. :)
