I am trying to use regcleaner to sweep up. THere are a bunch of items on the list that are there because I don't have msxml.dll. What is this, and do I need these items? I read that msxml was distributed with IE5, but I use Mozilla and got 98Lite so that I could delete IE. Is that why these registry entries are still there?

And what is msvrml2c.ocx ? There are a bunch of those. As my title implies, I'm a newbie, and have little or no idea what some of these registry entries are.
Things were so much simpler with DOS. I found my 6.22 disks and Win3.1 the other day, and wondered if life would be easier by installing them.....

Hello craigbass76,
msxml.dll is related to IE as you can see here http://www.netcrucible.com/xslt/msxml-faq.htm
Now msvrml2c.ocx extentions seem to be related to a
Video Card Driver http://www.video-drivers.com/drivers/25/25756.htm
That's the only things I could find about that.
Hope it helps.

Hmm, why not? If you still have your 6 floppies with WordPerfect 4.2 ;D

I have the dos disks up on a shelf. I look at them like I would a pack of cigarettes when I try to quit smoking....
So is it safe to delete the msxml files?

craigbass76,
If you don't use IE anymore it should be safe to delete those files.
However, it is always better be safe than sorry, so don't forget to make a backup of your registry. In case of problems you can always restore it.
As a good habit I always make a backup of my registry before adding or removing anything on my P.C. ;)
