LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- The city attorney's office has sued the makers of "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" for allegedly hiding pornographic material inside the video game, officials said.

Rocky Delgadillo said his office sued Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, for making misleading statements in marketing the game and engaging in unfair competition.

A telephone call made after business hours to a Take-Two spokesman in New York was not returned.
The game, released in October 2004, features characters that commit crimes such as murder, drug dealing and pimping.

The game also had an embedded "mini game" in which characters could engage in explicit sexual acts.

That's just stupid!

If you are concerned about the violence/sexual content of a game...Don't Buy It!

It clearly has a mature rating for the game, meaning you have to be 17 to purchase it. This implies that Adults, rational thinking individuals, make the conscious effort to hand money over for the game. I realize that kids get their hands on games like this, but that is where parenting steps in. Don't let your 12 year old play this game, yes...it is violent.

And the "Hidden" explicit material requires a hack to get to it, implying that you have to be looking for it. And it doesn't show more than you see on night-time tv shows. No actual nudity, just implications and sounds.

But, to sue the company?!? That's like saying they are going to sue Playboy for having sexual content. Duh!

Yep.

Probably there was somebody at the city attorney's office, had nothing useful to do, and thought: yeah, time to preach morality!;)

That's why I prefer Metal Gear Solid 3!!! :P

Third party products like Action Reply are for consoles like Playstation 2. What they do is alter the code of the game to get desired effects/cheats. (You don't need a third party device to alter Windows-based code)!!!

It was a mode called "Hot Coffee" that was cut out of the final game but was preserved on the disc as shrine to the game's development. It was never meant to be found but obviously people who create mods for PC games can and WILL look at all code in a game in order to build off the source code and create a good mod. Look at Desert Combat for Battlefield 1942. Rockstar tried to claim that these modders created "Hot Coffee" but when it was found on the console version they were caught in a lie. And that's why everyone was so mad.
