I`ve found out that where you purchase KAV from is where you are supposed to get your support .
Is there any difference in the quality of the support from either the Russian or the Swiss site?
I`ve found out from an earlier post here:http://www.security-pro.co.uk/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=anti-viruses;action=display;num=1017181781
that the Swiss site is a reseller of Kav. I see that they use Digital River and I wondered if the support was the same between the two.
I`ve also found 4 other resellers here in the U.S. , one offering a 30% discount on renewalls.. but again, support is a question ...
Thanks , Alan

It has been my experience that support is not the strongest point for KAV. I had to use them one time. I had purchased from Digital Rivers, and found they offer minimal support at best.
I went to the Russian site and looked up support, and sent them an email. I did receive a reply a couple of days later from a very nice lady that helped solve the problem.
I guess that's not too bad. I have never tried the Swiss site, as I did not buy from them.
I guess the nice thing about KAV is you don't usually need a lot of support. Their last couple of builds have been slow for me, but I found out it seems to be a combination of scanning compressed files and using Power desk.
I "think" they have solved the problems with XP, but some one else would have to verify that.
I have come to personally dislike Digital Rivers. If you can find another vendor, you might try them. Call their number first and see what kind of phone response you get.
Maybe its just me. *:D

Alan,
In all cases, you might drop Sergey Bogukovsky from Kaspersky an email:
ssb@kaspersky.com
regards.

Paul, who dis Sergey guy? Is he tech support?
I tried emailing Eugene once, but I think I had the wrong email addy. :)
Anyway, I'm happy with F-Secure right now. I finally installed the backweb client for automatic updates and it's working like a charm. :)
Now if I can just get Wayne to get TDS4 out and Mikhail to get 1.1 out. * ;D

Sergey is a very competenent and devoted member from the support team from Eugene Kaspersky. He knows what he's talking about, and quite eager to provide support.
regards.

Thanks also for the added input on Kav support sites. Hopefully I won`t have to use it.
