error occoured during communication with NOD 32 Kernel service

??? I have had a computer fatality, got a new harddrive and reinstalled the same operating system Win 98. Have downloaded NOD 32 but it does not appear to do its regular update thing the above error message appears
any suggestions

Nod does update, the thing is, it doesn't show in the Event log, i have the same probs here.

Please check your latest virus signature number, you can find this under System tools - Information.
If you see 1.468 you are set ;)
