Hello, I actaully use both, i'm not going to post a giant exhaustive question. So what is better a pac file or host file. I think a .pac is because it supports reg. expressions and can block a host such as ad*.google.com and it will block http://ad.google.com advertising.google.com, ect. but a pac file requires that you configure on a automatic proxy in ur browser, and it can be temp, toggled off, also it cant be hijacked. unlike a pac file, a host files doesn't require configuaration in browser, but it does not support reg. expression, and is redundant such as adding both ad.google.com and http://ad.google.com, were as you'd have to ad every domain.
stupid read, but thats how i see pac/host differences. in my opinion pac is better.
