hi, would just like to ask if TI8 for linux really supports LVM.

its because after succesfully installing TI8 it asks me to remove lvm-mod, this is a module that runs lvm, the installation says to remove it from the running kernel before running trueimage. how am i suppose to do that when my root partition is mounted on an lvm parition ???

was also hoping for a command that looks something like:

trueimagecmd /foo/bar /bar/foo.tib

that can backup mount points to a .tib file.

thanks,

Hello lemt,

Thank you for choosing in Acronis Linux Server Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ATISLin/).

-{ Quote: "...after succesfully installing TI8 it asks me to remove lvm-mod, this is a module that runs lvm, the installation says to remove it from the running kernel before running trueimage. how am i suppose to do that when my root partition is mounted on an lvm parition..." }-

Please be aware that the latest build (989) Acronis True Image 8.0 Server for Linux supports LVM only in case of using kernel versions 2.6.x and higher. I would therefore recommend you to upgrade to the higher kernel version in order to be able to use Acronis True Image 8.0 Server for Linux with LVM.

-{ Quote: "was also hoping for a command that looks something like:

trueimagecmd /foo/bar /bar/foo.tib

Please issue the following command in order to find more information on how to use trueimagecmd interface: man trueimagecmd

Please also take a look at Acronis True Image 8.0 Server for Linux User's Guide (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/download/docs/) for details.

If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/support/) or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

Thank you.
