I was looking for a way to add some entries to the Spybot Hosts file. Does anyone know if and how this can be done? Thanx very much.

The Spybot hosts list is just a list of bad sites that are added to your Windows hosts file. If you want to add further entries of your own choosing, just add them to the hosts file yourself, either "manually" with Notepad, or by using one of the dedicated hosts file editors that are available.

In XP, the hosts file is in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc.

I'd actually suggest you use a more extensive one like the MVPS HOSTS file (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm).

Use this userfriendly software to keep your HOSTS file up-to-date :

I don't use a hosts file like MVPS but I've heard such large hosts files can slow your computer down in some cases.

The MVPS Hosts File is rather small.
The huge Bluetack Hosts File is the one causing problems sometimes.
But the Windows Hosts File (= txt-file) has the wrong file type for searching.
You don't use a txt-file for intensive search operations.
