Purging ram

Is there a way to manually do this? I remember having problems with Win ME, and now I think 98 is doing it too. I have a large amount of info on the clipboard, but everything is slow even after I clear it. Is windows saving it somewhere else in memory? I just upgraded to 512 megs, so I think this would have stopped.

Simple to install/set up and use - although I don't know if that's what you mean by "manually" or not. HTH Pete

Just like Pete, I too am not completely sure what you were meaning.

Anyhow, I use on my Windows 98 SE system:
AbpMon and TaskInfo2003:

Both are not free.
In fact, when you have TaskInfo2003 I guess you don't also need AbpMon.
Both give you the possibility to free RAM.
I too have 512 MB RAM.

BTW:
I use IEClean to clean my caches when rebooting, and WindowWasher manually when I want to.

I used a few free programs to free RAM.

MaxMem and MemStatXP were the two that I liked the best.

Either can be set up to free RAM automatically when usage reaches a user-defined level.
MaxMem is very easy to set up,
Or you can manually decide to do that with either program.
They both worked good on my old system.Both are stable also.

The AbpMon program that FanJ showed is one that I haven't used or known of.
That's not a bad price and that program looks like it would be good!
I have 512mb RAM and I'm not using anything right now.
I may just check AbpMon out. ;)

A few sites that offer lots of RAM managing tools are Webattack and MajorGeeks.
