View Full Version : SpywareGuard and/or Ad-watch ?

Hi,

I am considering the reinstallation of SpywareGuard (I forgot it when I upgraded to XP). However I am also using Ad-aware + Ad-watch. Should I use only one ?

I have seen both present in a HijackThis log, so there should be no conflict. But I won't install both if not necessary.

Thanks,

Yinda

SpywareGuard uses various heuristic techniques to detect new versions of spyware that aren't even released yet (a benefit over Ad-Watch), plus SpywareGuard will catch and scan the files before they are executed.

And there is the Download Protection, and the advanced Browser Hijacking Protection.

But you may want to wait just a bit - a new version is just around the corner and it fixes a few potential bugs. :)

Best regards,

Hi Javacool,

Thanks for your very quick answer. I'll wait for the new version.

Do you mean that this will replace Browser Hijack Blaster ?

Hi Yinda,

Quote from Javacool:

"Indeed - using both BHB and SpywareGuard + its Browser Hijacking Protection can cause problems.

That's why I highly recommend using the more advanced SG Browser Hijacking Protection and removing BHB.
