The Spywareblaster database has 3 entries for NewDotNet. I'm planning to sign up for Earthlink cable, & apparently their software includes newdotnet software. Does anyone know whether I can keep the 3 items checked in Spyblaster & still use Earthlink, or will I have to uncheck them and accept the consequences?

I'm not aware of the fact of New.Net still being distributed by Earthlink (could be wrong here), but it will work fine without it (sure of that part).

Thanks for the help! For the record, the New.net homepage lists Earthlink as a partner, so, with regard to the article you link to, it makes you wonder just how loose a definition of spyware Earthlink has.

New.Net aka NewDotNet is NOT spyware.

The following is a personal opinion:
It is secretly installed crapware.
