Hi, yea. I'm just wondering where Chachazz is getting his versions of Adblock in the Update Forum. He posted 0.6.0.4 when the home page is only up to 0.5 d3 nightly42. ??? Can anybody shed some light on this please?

Hi erikguy:

It's on the MozUpdates site -
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=1865&application=firefox
http://adblockplus.mozdev.org/

This is the new Adblock Plus - here's my original post on the release:{QUOTE->
Adblock Plus 0.6
Wladimir Palant
released on January 17, 2006

Please note: this is a newly written version of AdblockPlus.

"Adblock Plus 0.6 is a complete rewrite with stability and security in mind. Only a few lines of code has been left unchanged (and these are my contributions to Adblock from 2003). Several features didn't make it into this release because they simply weren't useful enough or because they were not the best way to achieve the goal." : http://p2.forumforfree.com/adblock-plus-06...dblockplus.html (http://p2.forumforfree.com/adblock-plus-06-um-what-vt432-adblockplus.html)

What is new in Adblock Plus 0.6 Major security
User Interface has been rationalized and simplified, three dialogs merged into one
Adblock Plus sidebar (Firefox only)
Enabling/disabling with a drag gesture on Adblock in the status bar
Most code rewritten to make it simpler and more reliable
Note: This version won't overwrite Adblock or Adblock Plus 0.5.
If you have one of these extensions installed, you should uninstall it first.

Just a note, it seems to require the .NET framework. It wouldn't work for me before, but as soon as I installed it, it started working just fine.
Version 2 of the .NET Framework (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9655156b-356b-4a2c-857c-e62f50ae9a55&displaylang=en) is a much smaller download than the previous versions.

I've decided not to upgrade for now. Though I will do so in 6 months.
