Ever since the latest version of Ewido Anti-malware has been released, it
continually reports as a "Moderate Risk" a "Heuristic W32. Dialer " at :
a) C:\Program Files\DSLExtreme.com\Connection Manager\TICM32.exe
b) C:\Program Files\DSLExtreme.com\fpaccess.exe
Since DSLExteme is my ISP, are these "false-positives" ?
In early Jan I submitted, I think, these 2 files via Ewido's interface and
included in the "Comments" my "Ticket#200600100220000509";
what is going on, if anything ?

Those two false heuristical detections have been already fixed some weeks ago... Have you updated your ewido anti-malware since then?

Peter :
Thanks for your quick reply. Based on it, I decided to run a "Full Scan" just
prior to posting this and for the 1st time there was no detection of the
"Heuristic W32. Dialer" . I do update at least once every 3 days, the latest
being yesterday, Sat Jan 21; and I do run a "Full Scan" at least once a
week, so the "Dialer" was being detected at least to Jan 15.
All's well that ends well. It would have been nice if I had received an email
reply which said I should expect on the Malware Submittal Form !?

New version? I still see 3.5 as the current version.

Could be. I was going by the first post above where it was said "Ever since the latest version of Ewido Anti-malware has been released ..."

We're sometimes releasing bugfixes which are still 3.5 but the automatic updates, or manually update if you're not a licensed user, will update them automatically.
So the latest (major) version of ewido anti-malware is still 3.5 but however there are some bugfix releases, too.
