I just updated my definitions today. It had 18 new CoolWebSearch but I'm unable to protect against it. I've enabled all protection nothing happens, did selective and nothing happens. What's going on. I've never had this problem before????

Well, I'm not a professional, but I have always found CWShredder useful for getting rid of CWS. It can be found here (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html). Make sure you check for updates before you try to use the program to clean your system.

Great program I wouldn't be without it, nor HJT.

CWS trojans/spyware have always been amongst the hardest ones to remove.

A combination of

CWShredder
AboutBuster &
Ewido

will clean most of them - but you can try other programs as well.

Otherwise you may have to visit a HJT forum

The OP may be referring to SpywareBlaster. There is another thread here. (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=116611) If so, we can move this when we find out for sure.

This may apply. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=116611

SpySweeper does the best job getting rid of it.
