the two products you mention are completely different products and cannot be compared. Spysweeper being a scanner .. personaly I would recommend SpySweeper as it is a more complete solution with guards and a very good Antispyware Scanner!
Spyblocker/Stopper (same author) is not a scanner it's a filter between the http and your computer like Admuncher except Spyblocker works with a host/pacfile and is more newbie friendly
Spyblocker Pro has SpywareStopper (activeX) built in.

I still would go for Spysweeper, and btw my opinion would be considered as biased if I would say anything else ;)

Bit more than a scanner. What do you think all the shields do? They block.
Agree though... 4.5.8 pretty solid these days.
