DialogueScience, Inc. announces the release of the patched version - 4.28a - of *the popular anti-virus program Doctor Web for Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP, DOS/386, OS/2, Novell NetWare.

The following changes and improvements have been made to the version 4.28:

- errors occurring while checking files of more than 2 GB in length corrected;
- mail files scanning algorithm improved;
- format detection of some EServ mail files added;
- the SpIDer Guard error causing system hang-up when accessing *files on network drives corrected;
- in the Windows version of Dr.Web scanner the function of checking of start-up files is now activated by default. A command-line key for turning on /off the start-up files checking (/TS and /TS- respectively) added;
- error causing, under some conditions, an abnormal termination of the Windows version of Dr.Web scanner when making an attempt to open the LOG file of Doctor Web corrected;
- in console versions of the scanner errors when scanning files with special characters ("%" and other) in the file name corrected.

Users of the GUI version (DrWeb for Windows) can download either a complete distributive file with the patched version or the patch alone, which can be downloaded (1.0 Mb) from our FTP site at
ftp://ftp.dials.ru/dsav/english/drweb32/drw428p1.zip. Console versions can be downloaded as patched distributions.

After I upgrade, Drweb couldnot run.
I go back to 4.28 now.

I do not like this new trend to patch AV programs instead of coming out with an updated version. Too much chance for error in my opinion. *>:(

Root, you can download completely new 4.28a version 3.5 MB, or you can only download patch (1MB).
