If I understand your question correctly, PG does not work as you perceive. It protects your executable files from being attacked by the various methods malware uses. I would suggest visiting this DCS page, http://www.diamondcs.com.au/processguard/index.php?page=help, and downloading the help file to read. The Introduction section does a good job of explaining what PG is all about.
I hope this helps.

During learning mode PG does not add .dll's to the protection list only .exe's are added. I did try and was able to add a .dll to the list, I can't understand why you are wanting to since they are not an executable file.

Just tried and even though set to:
1. Protect from Termination or Modification
2. *not* Authorize to Terminate or Modify
A *.doc I added to Protection (tab)
was able to be Modified (changed) and Terminated (closed).
Perhaps a great suggestion to DiamondCS?
Be able to protect all *.doc or selected *.doc
I have Office 2003 and just found this in Word 2003:
File | Permission | Restrict Permission As...
-{ Quote: "Information Rights Management (IRM) in Microsoft Office 2003 helps prevent sensitive documents and e-mail messages from being forwarded, edited or copied by unauthorized people.
To use IRM you need to install the Windows Rights Management client. If you have an existing version of the Windows Rights Managment client installed you will need to uninstall it first and then download the latest version of the Windows Rights Management client. Do you want to download the latest version now?

... "Once permission for a document or message has been restricted with this technology, the access and usage restrictions are enforced no matter where the information is, since the permission to access an e-mail message or a document are stored in the file itself."-{ Quote: "IRM in Word 2003, Excel 2003, and PowerPoint 2003
Permission for Office 2003 documents can be restricted on a per-user or per-group basis (group-based permissions require Active Directory for group expansion). Each user or group can be given a set of permissions according to the access levels defined by document authors: Read, Change, or Full Control. Document authors have Full Control access. Just like document authors, those with Full Control access can select to restrict printing, set expiration dates, and even give permission to others or change permission for existing users. Once permission for a document has expired for authorized users, the document can only be opened by the document author or users with Full Control access to the document.
If a document with restricted permission is forwarded to an unauthorized person, a message appears with the document author's e-mail address so that the individual can request permission for the document. If the document author chooses not to include an e-mail address, unauthorized users simply get an error message." }-

For some reasons, currently in PG
Protection (tab)
logon.scr (\windows\system32\)
shellextension.dll (\microsoft\antispyware\)
I think I recall adding these myself.
Think I read somewhere the logon.scr suggested to be added?
Don't recall about the MS AS .dll entry reason, occurrence.

Hi Mantra
Most of these programs like Process Guard, Safe'n'Sec, etc are designed to protect your system from malware, like virus', and trojan from infecting and taking over your computer.
What you are looking for is something to protect the privacy of your data files. Non of these programs are really designed for that. If it is really an issue you might want to consider encryption etc. Just be careful you don't end up protecting them from yourself. This happens frequently.
