Why would a program which I thought was supposed to monitor your registry for changes from your current keys/settings need to update all the time? I mean there are no signatures right, no malware to be scanning for, it is a registry protection program, correct? So why the constant need to contact Ghost Security website? I have uninstalled from my software guinea-pig computer until further investigation. I hope whoever answers my question is sure about why it connects.

RegDefend will check for updates daily if you have that setting enabled. Generally, it is not necessary to check for updates daily. The only exception I would make is during the first week or two following a new release when Jason sometimes uploads small bugfix updates without a public announcement.

I'm running the latest public GSS (with AppDefend) beta which shows the following versions: Ghost Security Suite 1.110, RegDefend 2.050, and AppDefend 1.000.

you can disable automatic updates in "settings".. i usually try to disable automatic updates for all programs, when possible..
