I am impressed by Ewido.
When I scan with the free versions of Ewido and Lavasoft AdAware, they both seem to find the same tracking cookies, while SpyBot Search Destroy does not find any tracking cookies.
AdAware finish its scan after 10 minutes and Ewido after 30 minutes, which indicates Ewido is doing a more thorough job.
Can I consider the free Ewido overlapping the free AdAware almost completely, and AdAware overlapping Ewido just a bit?

Stein

Frist of all, please understand that we can't comment on competitive products... However, in the past the main focus of ewido has been mainly on the more dangerous malware like trojans (that's what the engine was designed for) and the added spyware/adware detection is going to be improved again with version 4.0... That's all I can say :)

But I hope you focused more on detecting Trojans... rather than on some other things ;) (maybe also on spyware cookies detection), because there are already lots of available Anti-spywares out there that focuses themselves on detecting on malwares and spywares and not on Trojans. :(
I'd rather like to see Ewido as an Anti-trojan rather than an anti-"something" or a maybe "generalized kind of scanner". Many are already doing that, but still if it can detect something other than Trojans...well it is also acceptable. 8)

I would like to correct this. Faster scanning times does not prove anything.
Stein, ewido is mainly an anti-trojan program, though it does detect and remove other kinds of malware.
