Hello,
We tried to boot from the Acronis TrueImage 8 & 9 Boot CDs, but the boot process stops at "Loading, please wait...".
What must we do, to help Acronis to boot correctly ? The computer has the following technical features :
Athlon 64 3400+
60GB SATA HDD
512MB Ram DDR400

Have you tried the adding the commands acpi=off noapic (mind how you spell noapic - many people type noacpi by mistake) after the word quiet in Linux console command line as detailed in the Acronis Support Sticky <Please Read Before You Post> (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317)? Also could you please confirm which build of TI 8 and TI 9 you used.

Just what does the magic command "quiet acpi=off noapic " do?
If it isn't really required and causes problems why isn't it built into the boot CD?

acpi=off is a Linux command that switches off <Advanced Configuration and Power Interface> (http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/ACPI), whilst noapic is the Linux command that disables the <Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller> (http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/APIC).
ACPI and APIC aren't disabled by default because for most systems (especially non laptops) they do not cause a problem.

Hi mbrewer,

Just a thought. You're not by any chance using Windows 64-bit OS are you? It is not supported by either ATI8 or 9.8)
