Would suggest that you partition the normal way without using Maxtor.
Them use your Ghost image.

Its difficult to fully understand what you are trying to say.

Appearantly your computer is still running very slow....is that correct?
If thats the case..don't waste the next year trying to find an answer for why its slow......when it would be much quicker just to do a complete re-format (since you have a Ghost Image)

if after doing another format you still have problems then you would have something to worry about.....but right now my guess is that somehow something got messed-up the last time you formatted.

nope
after the crash my hardisk was very slow ! xp did need 20 min to boot
i restored only the first partion whith ghost , but nothing

the only way to cure my hardisk is : i had to delete the partion , re-make partition , re-install , and everything went well , and my hd did return to be fast

i would like to know what could been happen?

There are too many possibilities, there's no way to know after the reinstall. About all you can do is check the hard drive itself with the diagnostic from Maxtor... if it checks out, just forget it and hope it never happens again.

Take care... Quinn
