View Full Version : No money for games this Xmas! Any free game downloads to recommend?

Hi,
As usual there is nothing decent on TV at Christmas!! :(
Since i don't have any money for commercial games this xmas, can anyone recommend any good, free games to download of the net, free of spyware/malware etc.
Preferrably not shareware/online games ;)
I've been looking in particular for a sudoku puzzle game and texas holdem no limit poker card game. Please, only games you can play offline.
I've used the search engines for free games but there are so many poor listings and sites that are full of ads and no content, that sifting through all that garbage would take all Christmas!!!
So i'm looking for your personal recommendations on your favorite games and where you downloaded them. Games that are addictive and fun too play.
Something that will make time fly. Games you are still playing that you downloaded ages ago. Or any new games you cannot stop playing etc.
Im not fussy about game genres, puzzles, card games, fruit machines, any genre really!
Even abandonware or emulated games\mame recommendations are welcome.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Ronin
Merry Christmas

While lacking in
name and plot, offers much more than first meets the eye. In a complicated maze format, you play a ninja trapped in an underground dungeon, collecting coins that add seconds to your overall timer. The ingenious puzzles require more thought than average puzzle games and perhaps some knowledge of physics. There are many interesting, gruesome ways for stickman to die if you don’t understand his limits—or if you’re just sadistic.
Here are some more.
