Hi to all, hope a right section and sorry for my low english.
Now ask for a problem:
i have purchased today a new notebook toshiba m40-282, seem a very good machine
but its disk of 100Gb have only one partition with Xp preinstalled,
for me is a very-very bad choice and try to resize primary partition.
I start Acronis Partition Expert and see two partitions: first "C:" by NTFS for 93Gb and
a second "unknow" partition by 204Mb for "none" file system (i deduce this partition is
for preinstalled O/S and or a recovery/restore O/S, correct ?).
Ask: if i resize primary partition "C:" for example on 20gb and create a new partition "E:" for 80Gb and keep
a unknow partition of 204Mb, when i have necessity for restore O/S from drive "D:" with a Cd provide from
manufacturer it work ever ?
Thanks in advance for any indication.

Hello caronte,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/).

Yes, it is correct. You should decrease the size of your C: partition, then create a new partition utilizing the space that has been made free.

Yes, Acronis Partition Expert will allow you to perform these actions.

There should not be any problems with your computer having such partition layout.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

Thank you.
