Ok, so I’m gonna take the plunge (I’ve got my good old reliable GoBack on standby). Where do I go to download the new full version 2? I’m in the USA and will be putting this on top of a "fully paid for" version 1 on an old Win98 system.

Thank you (and wish me luck), Acadia.

;) To avoid any possible quirks, I only advise you to keep things as much clean as possible. Uninstall v1, reboot, install v2.

ciao,
Paolo.

Hi Acadia,

I don't think the installation of NOD32 is worse than any other software, including Microsoft Products. ;)

At least for me everthing went smooth. :)

Thanks. I just printed off all the installation instructions but haven't read them yet. Should I "undo" my email set-up before I uninstall? I don't even remember what I did but I remember having a problem setting up my email originally.

Hi Antarctica,

Sure thing, i absoluteley agree, i hadn't any probs aside some minor glitches, but how come when at Eset's they are stating that "NOD runs like a charm" ( end quote), that this forum is full of people having trouble with NOD, when issue 1 isn't quiet fixed, issue nr2 is on the loose, and so on and so on.

I know every pc is running its own world, and there is no way of comparing even two identical pc's, but still, the people here are not complaining if it isn't nessecary.

Hope you can see what i mean here,

rgds,
Martin

If you had your email set up to use version 1's pop 3 email scanner, then you should restore the email client to the original settings for your incoming ISP's mail server to receive mail, if that's what you mean. Imon doesn't need to be set up as a proxy in your email settings, unlike ver. 1's email scanner.

Hi,

When you uinstall NODv1, your email settings will be returned to default by NOD.

Hi Martin,

Yes I know what you mean and I didn't say you were complaining for nothing. :)
It's really sad that you had so many problems. But look, I had Norton AV before and let me tell you it was a nightmare for me. Yet tousands of people use it and are happy.

Take care

Ah, well that's a clever feature, Martin. I wasn't running NOD 1's email scanner and didn't know that uninstall restored the email settings.

Taking into account hundreds of thousands users run v2 in the meanwhile, the numbers of users having some sort of problem (at times not specificly NOD32 related either), is comparatively close to zero ;)

regards.

Eset didn't say that, Martin. It was me only :) And I didn't write that in general, I meant only that v2 fits also on old configurations. For instance, we ran v2 on a Pentium 225 Mhz with 64 MB of RAM and W98 OS without particular problems.

ciao,
Paolo.
