Hi,

I have a RAID 0 system (2 raptors) with 2 partitions:

I want to schedule backups about every 2 days on another hard disk.

Shall I have to make an Image file with BOTH partitions (take longer)
or make 1 image file for each partitions ?

if 1 image for each partitions, would it possible to restore disk by disk or I need to restore both partitions same time?

See what I mean?

thanks ;)

Hello asmatt,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Please be aware that Acronis True Image 9.0 supports all levels of RAID arrays along with the wide variety of modern RAID controllers and allows you to create an image of either the entire hard drive or assortment of partitions.

Actually, there is no need to create a separate image archive for each partition, since you can store both of them in a single image. However, the final choice is always up to your needs.

Please also note that only the image of the entire hard drive contains MBR which is "responsible" for your hard drive to be bootable. You can create an image of the entire hard drive by checking the box near the hard drive's name which is usually disk1, disk2, etc. (see respective screen shot in section 4.2 of Acronis True Image 9.0 User's Guide (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/docs/)).

Please be aware that Acronis True Image 9.0 allows you to restore one or more partitions simultaneously from both the image of the entire hard drive and the image of some partition assortment.

In case you will create a separate image for each of your partitions, there will be no way to restore them at the same time, but only one after another.

Please also note that you can find the detailed instructions on how to use Acronis True Image 9.0 in the above mentioned User's Guide.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

Thank you.
