Mozilla Thunderbird question

Hello, I was reading this article http://www.vanburentelco.com/newsletters/e-newsletter-april-2005.htm in how to enable in Mozilla Thunderbird concerning requesting a read receipt. It says theres a known problem when the reciever chooses to send back a read receipt or something like that.

Is this problem present in the latest version of Mozilla Thunderbird?
