I was just wondering if Powerquest's old PM from way back was compatible with SP2. I couldn't find any free options that worked so I thought I'd try my old copy for a simple resize operation. I'd appreciate any comments.

PartitionMagic 7 is compatible with winXP according my readings.

And I have read this on several dutch websites too.
Of course, I would use or upgrade to PartitionMagic 8.

Hi;
Should it even not be the case, no need to install it on your system. Use your cdrom or your PM rescue disks to boot, and run PM without even starting your OS. That's it. The operations are run on pre-OS level, and partitioning works independently from which OS is installed on the partitions.

BTW, Partition Magic 8 from Symantec currently really is the (very good) Powerquest product with Symantec's name (and price) added on it. Should anyone decide to buy it, please hurry before Symantec decides to tweak or "improve" on the product - we all know how good they are at messing up good software once they bought it.

Cheers

Even the old PM5 works with WXP SP2.
