Need a Firewall other than Outpost to go with NOD32

OK...Here's my problem. I'm a computer dummy and Outpost Pro (OPP) is designed for the computer savvy. I feel like OPP is probably a great product, but I've done 6 installs and still can't make it work right. To boot, unless you buy the program, you get zero tech support from Agnitum.

I'm in 3 day of the 30 day trial and am thinking that I need something a little more simple. I still want a leak proof, secure firewall. Just one that that the average computer dummy can use.

Any suggestions?

look n stop is a newb's hell . . . All firewall / packet filter based like the ones that i find creeping on here that block all inbound and you have to allow ports access similar to having to "port forward a router" this is unaceptable for the normal user.Stick with outpost and it you really really get stuck try something like freeware sygate or something. all you want to to be stealth on all closed ports and open you want to be open and work... by all means close access to ports manually if you need to

Well i tried Outpost 3 and worke just fine with NOD32 2.5. Now i'm using Outpost 2.7 and also no problems.

Zone Alarm free, pretty easy.
McAfee.

I am using the free Zone Alarm now. I sure do miss the add free surfing of Outpost Pro. But it was just too complex for me.

Zonealarm passed my leak test and is VERY easy to use.

So far so good, but it's just day 1 :)

Any suggestions?" }-No suggestions, but I appreciate the high opinion you have of my computer savvy. I use Outpost and do not consider myself computer savvy. Experienced but not savvy. I do think you have come to the right place for help too. Good Luck ;D

If you don't like Outpost then I would think that just about any firewall would go ok with Nod32. Just pick one of the ones known to be user friendly, like ZA for example. I'd steer clear of LnS as it's rules based and might give you headaches if you want something simple. Sygate is another easy one. There are many.

You can use Kerio PF 4.2.2 with NOD32.

I'm using OP Pro with Nod32. ::) I did have problems mostly because I did not remove the trial version before reinstalling after I purchased OP. A moderator on users forum OP wrote that I didn't need to uninstall the trial versions but I've always understood it was best practice to uninstall before installing the newly purchased version.8) Fortunately I've got jv16 Power tools & I used them to uninstall OP & then had no problems installing the purchased version. I did contact Agnitum for tech help :'( - not much good as they told me to down load their debug but it made things worse. OP appears to be working well now. But I would not be without jv16 Power tolls as I couldn't uninstall without it.

i used outpost and it doesnt go well with my azureus
and then one of the updates broke my java applet for my internet banking
after tt i went back to sygate
but damn....i might need a firewall that still updates and has a easy interface like sygate

Works fine with Azureus for me. Did you check the rule sets posted on the OP forum?

I can see where some would be intimidated a bit with Outpost. IMO, the easiest firewall for the non-computer savvy is Zone Alarm. It's pretty straight forward, as ZA mainly deals at the program level(you basically tell it what to give access to and what not to) while firewalls like Outpost deal more at the port level.

About the only thing that could confuse a person, with ZA, is the version 6.0 component control. It tends to pop up a lot of extra windows asking for permission on things and a non-computer savvy user might no know how to answer.

thats what i did
anyway any reason why my java applet failed to load after updating outpost?
and is there anyway to get rid of the dll messages when i update my software?
