I want to cleanup my HDD as unfortunately some deleted programs frequently leave files and registry entries behind. I have considered backing up everything and reinstalling XP but I dread reinstalling all my programs, update patches and settings.

Then I read about Migrate Easy. While it is for going to a new PC or Drive, I think it will do what I want. It looks like I can select the programs I want to keep and drop the ones I don’t, I know I would probably have save he migrated stuff to an external drive and reinstall XP.

I have a few questions:
1) Is there any reason the above wont work?
2) Will Migrate Easy let me select what I want to transfer, and leave the old registry alone? I.e. rebuild the new registry.
3) Will it move programs MS Office, without reinstalling the office install disk?
4) Is there a limit to how many times you can use Migrate Easy? Some migration software does.

Thanks in advace for any help.
