I would like to know, do most of you use the monitor option to scan all files or do you just scan exe files?

For me NOD is fast enough to scan all files on the fly. That minimizes the risk of some file slipping through the extension list - and this is one of the key advantages of NOD's speed. :)

Hi,

Have it set to scan all files, cause NOD is fast enough.

Hi all,

if there is no special reason for scanning all files - I'd recommend to use the default extensions setting - the extensions of the files that may contain a malware are included and you can avoid delays.

Thanks., :)

For Imon and the on-demand scanner, I would suggest you to try all the files plus extensionless ones. Why?, because NOD32 will still detect renamed files as well, that means, if for some reason you have an .exe virus that renamed itself to virusname.jpg and you avoid the .jpg extension, for example, it won't scan it and detect it, though if you enable the scan all files option, it will detect it, no matter if you can't execute it. It's always healthy knowing what goes on your pc.

For Amon, I think it's ok leaving it set to deafault parameters. otherwise, everytime you open a picture folder you'll experience a lightl but unnecessary slowdown.

Karl,

>what kind of delays are you talking about

Some delays caused by scanning the files that doesn't contain viruses - e.g. .jpg, etc.
