WinXP Installation von IDE auf S-ATA Festplatte übernehmen

Hallo...
Ich habe mir eine neue SATA-Festplatte bestellt und würde nun gerne
meine Windows XP Installation irgendwie übernehmen. Das würde im
einfachsten Fall heißen: Mit TrueImage ein Image von C:\ anlegen und
dann auf die SATA Platte aufziehen.
Nun habe ich inzwischen schon mitbekommen das das so leicht nicht
funktioniert weil der MBR weiterhin von der IDE fesplatte booten
will. Gibt es da nicht eventuell irgendeine Möglichkeit, die
bestehende Win-Installation weiter zu benutzen?
Unterstützt die neuste Version von TrueImage einen Wechsel von IDE auf SATA-Fesplatten?

Einige Konfig-Daten:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI (nforce4)
Neue FP: 250GB Maxtor 6L250S0 SATA
