Hi - My full backup is/was from TI8 followed by increments from TI8 & 9. Now I have a new AV, & would like to delete the full BU (from TI8) and all increments (from both TI8 &9). Make a new full BU with TI9 followed by increments using TI9. I'm using a USB external HD for the BU's.
I don't quite know what to do, I've gotten to:
1. choose from TI9 "Manage Acronis Secure Zone."
2. NEXT
3. Choose disk 2 (from list) USB HD
4. place a check mark for WD (Western Digital) USB HD
5. I get "min max partition" slider, window
6. ?????????????
What do I do to Delete all Backups (full + increments)? Or step #6....
Or is there another way to free up the space on F:\
Thanks

rico" }-Hello rico,
Not sure whether I understood you correctly, but if your old images were created in a Secure Zone (SZ) on your USB hard drive then the way to get rid of them is to delete the SZ and then create another one using the Manage Acronis Secure Zone Wizard.
As an aside, I would advise anyone thinking of creating a SZ on a removable hard drive not to also activate the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager. Doing so means that the external drive must be plugged in and switched on whenever the computer is booted. If it's not, then it's pretty much a certainty that the bootup will fail.

Hi - Menorcaman & thank you for responding. I don't know that I ever did create a secure zone on my USB drive. I just chose backup & went from there. If TI8 created a secure zone I have no idea. NOTE from reading the manual the only thing I saw about deletion was using the "manage secure zone". Again I don't know if TI8 created a secure zone, or if a secure zone is automatically created in the course of making a backup.
My goal is to:
1. delete all files from the USB drive
2. Not have TI9 still reporting or remembering the old BU
3. Make a new full BU, with TI9 followed by increments.

Rico,
1. Delete the .tib files.
2. Open TrueImage. On the left hand side click "Show Log". Click the 2nd X (delete all) or highlite and delete the log file entry individually.
3. Create your new .tib file.

Hello again Rico,
Also, if you wish to remove the previous filenames from TI's dropdown picklists then proceed as follows:
- Click on the Windows Start button and select "Run".
- In the Run dialog box enter the command regedit and click "Enter".
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Acronis\TrueImage\Filehistory.
- In the right hand window, delete all Value Names other than (Default).
- Close the Registry Editor and restart Windows.
Usual precautions about creating a restore point prior to delving into the Registry apply ;)
