iIhave a question I recently gave my computer to get some ram installed and they got into it without my password how is that possible everything is password protected.
Any advice is helpful would like to stop this from happening

The thing is if they just installed ram they might have just turned the comp on to make sure that it was going to boot and turned it off when it was apperant the ram was installed. don't need a password to do that. and there are a few ways to defeat a start up password.

Xp Home Edition. when i booted up the username was win not sure where that came from. Classic Logon

They don't need to boot into Windows to see if the RAM has been installed properly and recognised by the BIOS. They may have just tried typing a couple of common usernames to fire up Windows and then given up. If you're really concerned about what they did, why not ask them?

Why not install the RAM yourself? I don't believe it's difficult to do, even on a notebook computer.
