This is a follow-up of the update-notice:
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=104961

As I posted there: I just saw this update.
Version : 11.45
Date : 26-Oct-2005
Site : http://www.backtec.com/ers9x.htm

Some more info:
ERS9x is a nice "software" backup tool for Windows 95-98-ME from Theodore Fattaleh.
It is not a backup tool like for example Norton Ghost or Acronis TrueImage.
With Ghost or TI you can backup your whole HD.
ERS9x gives you the possibility to backup (and recover) the most important parts of your OS.
ERS9x has a brother ERS 2K/XP for Windows 2000 and XP (home and Pro); but only on a FAT/FAT32 partition.

Some quotes for ERS9x from its site:
-{ Quote: "
Win 95/98/Me, Recover gracefully from a system crash with ERS.
Should Win 95/98/Me registry or other System files become
corrupted, backups will then be available to restore from.
Auto backup, daily and weekly rotary backup, Vital and Startup
files backup, backup Windows and Windows\System files.
Backup compression.
Be at the steering wheel. Microsoft failed to give you a good
backup and restore in the past while ERS has never failed.
" }-

Of course you can read more at the ERS9x site.

ERS9x was mentioned at the Wilders-org site:
http://www.wilders.org/securing_your_pc.htm
Of course I know that that site is now out-of-date.
But let me tell you that ERS9x has saved me many times in the past !!! :D
And I'm not the only one who was or is using ERS9x ;)

As of now I haven't yet received the usual update-notice from Theodore.
I haven't yet installed the new version; not sure whether I have time for it in the coming days.
Anyhow, I wanted to raise once more attention for this program :)

Cheers, Jan.

In the meanwhile I got the email; thanks Theodore ! :D

(no, I'm not going to quote; licenced users of ERS9x will get it).
