I corresponded at some length with Jon Jacobi, the author of that article. It should be obvious to anyone who has used the early builds of TI9 that he never successfully tested the features he has written about in TI9, as his article implies.

In fact, two weeks ago he stated that he didn't have any personal experience with TI9, only TI7 &TI8. He also stated that he didn't have any modern hardware platforms available to him to test TI9 on!

I guess his type of authoring is the same as the phony traffic reporter who broadcasts from a closet in the studio with helicopter sounds pumped into the background.

FWIW. :-*

That's why forums are the best places to get real world opinions of any product. Do these magazine reviewers get paid or just get a free copy of the product? Hanging in there with 8/937.

937 is the best thing that ever happened to the "image" world. I knew they were going to push a new 9. release when I saw the 8's jumping so quickly.

At least I felt that the last version of 8 was "solid" unlike some other software I use.

The reviewer sounded like he'd just taken all the blurbs/product descriptions of the two products and rehashed them in a "review" without actually using the products themselves.

However, when it "does" work, Acronis TI9 is a great program. It's real-time imaging capability has to be admired. I'm looking forward to when Acronis irons out all their nasty bugs (maybe by the 937'th release!) so that the GUI, snap restore etc... are no longer buggy.

Since this thread is about an online review and not a support issue, I have moved it to the appropriate forum section.
