A good firewall

I'm looking for a very good firewall. I was using Kerio Personal Firewall 4.2.1 and then I heard that it was going to be discontinued December 31, 2005. Since they are no longer giving updates away I am wanting a different firewall. So I chose Zonealarm Antispyware (it almost crashed my computer, but eventually I got it to work). Is there any other good firewalls out there (pay or free, it doesn't matter)? And when I say good firewalls, I mean I want to be as secure as possible. Any ideas?

I like Look n Stop personally, it's not the most user friendly firewall out there but in my opinion it's the best. ( I know others will disagree so please note i am giving my opinion, not gospel ) As far as free firewalls go, i think well of Zone Alarm Free ( very user friendly )

Keep in mind that a firewall does not make you invincible. All of these will secure you when properly configured (and good common sense is used). If you're looking for something that is secure out-of-the-box and easy to use, Outpost or Netveda are probably the easiest on this list.

As a basic firewall Zone Alarm free is very good and as an as an advanced suite, Zone Alarm Pro is also excellent offering many more security related features than just a basic firewall.

I really like to configure my firewall so I can get the greatest protection. I like a firewall that has a lot of options for security. As for security suites I'm not a really big fan of them.

If you were a fan of the Kerio 4.x firewall , then you need to check out Outpost Pro . Similar in alot of ways . More configurations though . Lots of cool stuff to play with . You like to configure huh ? Go for Outpost . Good out of the box but , awesome to " play " with to get the best protection a software firewall can give . Many features . try it and see . If it is not to your liking , check something else out . But , again , very similar to Kerio 4.x . A bit more protection features and awesome features to configure to get the most out of it .

If you have the nerve , Tiny is GREAT to play with too . Learning curve is a bit steep but , all in all , once figured out , it is a super strong defense .
